Happy Birthday.

After having been graduated from MHS, I went first to Kilgore College for a year and then transferred to THE University of Texas, where I pledged Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Kay Saxon and I married in 1966 and I went on the law school at the University of Houston, where I was graduated in 1970. I promptly moved back to Marshall and joined the staff of the District Attorney's office. I shifted from prosecution into private practice and practiced law in partnership with my brother, Sam (MHS 1960) until he joined the Ronald Reagan team as the Southwest Regional Administrator for HUD.
I continued to practice law in Marshall until 2006, when I ran for -- and was elected -- as a justice of the Sixth Court of Appeals in Texarkana, where I continue to serve.
Upon returning to Marshall, I joined Trinity Episcopal Church, where I served as a
Sunday school teacher, lay reader, member of the vestry, and senior warden. At about the same time, I served on the board of Trinity Day School (where my children were attending school).
In 1978,, we left Trinity Episcopal Church and joined Cypress Valley Bible Church (then called Believers Bible Fellowship), where I served as the chairman of the Men's Business Meeting (which, at that time, governed the affairs of the church).
Kay and I have lived in the same house on Harper Drive in Marshall since 1975.
