Janette Ratcliff (Creasy)

Obituary

Janette Marie (Ratcliff) Creasy, 81, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, in Fresno, California. Born on November 23, 1943, in Marshall, Texas, Janette lived a vibrant life filled with love, adventure, and creativity.

Janette grew up in Marshall, where she cherished the outdoors, horseback riding, and her time as a band member at Marshall High School. It was in Virginia that she met her lifelong partner, Roger Creasy, with whom she built a rich life together. A lover of old movies, westerns, and syndicated talent shows, Janette’s lively commentary on contestants’ performances brought joy to those around her. Her passion for crochet resulted in countless cherished blankets gifted to family, and she delighted in rummage sales, always on the hunt for an “Antique Roadshow” treasure. Janette’s adventurous spirit led her to explore historical sites across the country, strengthening her bonds with family and friends.

In 2018, after Roger’s retirement, Janette and Roger relocated to Madera, California, to be closer to their son and his family. They lived together until Roger’s passing in 2000. Janette remained a devoted family member, leaving a legacy of warmth and connection.

Janette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Lee Creasy; her mother, Nannie Marie Ratcliff; her father, James Lawrence Ratcliff Jr.; and her brothers, Harold Wayne Ratcliff and Eddie Joe Ratcliff. She is survived by her son, Stacy Creasy, and his wife, Michele; granddaughters, Taylor (Creasy) Sahatdjian and her husband, Willy, and Mallory Creasy and her spouse, Camryn; great-grandchildren, Winifred and Wesley Sahatdjian; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Algoma South Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2025, at the funeral home.

Janette was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and cousin whose spirit continues to inspire all who knew her. We are grateful to the Good Lord for the many joyful years we shared with her. May she rest in peace.
