James Pollock

James E. Pollock, age 77, of Marshall Texas passed away on the 19th of November, 2021. James was born on December 16, 1943 to Agnes Jane Knight and Jack Teddy Pollock. He attended Marshall High School and graduated with the class of 1962. James attended Texas A&M before being called to serve our country in a time of war. He dutifully served in the Army and returned home to complete his Master's degree at East Texas State University.  

James worked as Assistant Auditor for Gregg County for a time, but left to pursue a passion for working with his hands. He was an incredibly gifted woodworker and General Contractor in Harrison County until his retirement. James was a proud member of Marshall Masonic Lodge #22 where he served as Master of the lodge. James was a Worthy Patron in Marshall Chapter 356 of the Eastern Star. He also participated in the Shriners organization and the family would welcome donations to the Shriners in James' honor.  

James is survived by: his loving wife of 40 years, Ginny; his sisters, Teddie and Brenda; his children, Elizabeth and Joe; and his grandchildren, Tabitha, Gabriel, and Sam.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 22nd at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, TX from 5pm to 7pm. Graveside funeral service will be Tuesday, November 23rd at Yates Cemetery in Scottsville, TX at 2pm.

Narcissa Moore (Channell)

Jimmy was my first boyfriend back in Sam Houston days.  I've enjoyed seeing and visiting with him at all the rerunions.  I wish I were in Marshall to attend his funeral today.
