Nita Goolsbee (Beane)

Nita Goolsbee (Beane)

Nita Gale Beane, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior April 6th, 2023. She was born July 17th1944 to Alton (Jack) and Myrle Goolsbee.  Nita, the most devoted Mother and Grandmother, is survived by her Daughter Lucynda Beane married to Jack Smith, Son Todd and his wife Valerie Beane and their children Addison, Landry and Olivia Beane.

Nita was a loving and kind woman who lived a life of service.  Her formative years were in Marshall, Texas where she made lifelong friends. In 1962 she attended Baylor University where she earned her English degree in 3 years and began her teaching career in Waco.  She married her high school sweetheart and they moved to Irving in 1967 and began their family.  She found her church home at Plymouth Park Baptist Church in 1968.  This church is where she made some of her dearest and strongest friendships.  She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and could be counted on to help with anything needed.  Nita believed strongly in education.  So much so, that she went back to school and earned her master’s degree all while raising children, teaching at MacArthur High School, and attending church.

Nita loved to travel. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and made wonderful memories on countless trips. She believed that traveling expanded your mind.  She loved to watch sports and to attend her student’s, children’s, and grandchildren’s games.  She loved her Baylor Bears and the Dallas Cowboys. She was quick to tell you what games were on TV and would often text you with a strongly worded opinion while she watched.

She loved The Lord, and her faith was unwavering.  She was a woman of true integrity whose impact will be forever felt by her family and friends. Nita was a selfless woman whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of many.  Her ability to sacrifice, provide support, forgive and love will be forever engrained in all she knew.

The funeral service will take place Wednesday April 12 at 10:00 am at Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving, TX.

A private burial to follow.

I'm so sorry to get the news of Nita's death.  After high school graduation, I saw Nita at reunions and loved being around her quick wit.  We were both English teachers so we always had a lot of stories to exchange.  I missed her being at our 60th reunion,
